YORKTON — Some of Saskatchewan's fastest motocross riders will descend on Yorkton this weekend as the Saskatchewan Provincial Motocross Championships roll into Millstone Raceway for Round 5 of the provincial series.
Hosted by the Yorkton Motocross Club, the event is expected to attract competitors from across the province as racers battle for valuable championship points and provincial titles.
Fans can expect a full day of high-speed competition featuring dramatic jumps, close wheel-to-wheel racing and the unmistakable roar of motocross machines from the first gate drop to the final checkered flag.
Organizers say the championship weekend offers an opportunity for both longtime motocross enthusiasts and first-time spectators to experience one of Saskatchewan's most exciting motorsports events.
Racing action is scheduled for July 19 at Millstone Raceway, located along Highway 9 North across from Schrader's in Yorkton. Gates open at 6:30 a.m., with racing activities running from 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission is $10 per person, while children aged three and under will be admitted free. Spectators should note that admission is cash only. Concessions will be available on site throughout the day.
The weekend will also feature a practice day on Saturday, July 18, running from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Riders can take part in practice sessions for $30, while camping is available for $20.
With provincial championships on the line and competitors travelling from communities throughout Saskatchewan, organizers are expecting a competitive field and an energetic atmosphere at the track.
