KAMSACK — Mobile Early Learning – East Central has partnered with the Kamsack Family Resource Centre and the Kamsack Public Library to bring “My Curious Kit” Summer Event to Families in the area.
Families with young children are invited to a fun-filled My Curious Kit Pick Up event on Tuesday, July 28, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Kamsack Public Library.
The day will be filled with crafts and hands-on activities, sparkle tattoos, a light lunch, soft serve ice cream with sprinkles, and opportunities to connect with other local families.
“This free community event is designed to support families with children from birth to five years of age by providing engaging early learning experiences and take-home activities that encourage learning through play throughout the summer,” said Kim Gelowitz, Program Developer with Mobile Early Learning – East Central.
Registered children ages 2 to 5 years old will receive a My Curious Kit containing hands-on activities that are designed to strengthen creativity, fine motor skills, early literacy, problem-solving, and family engagement. Children under two years of age attending with their families will also receive a smaller age-appropriate activity package while supplies last.
The take-home kit encourages families to continue learning together at home with activities including tape resist painting, watercolor art, homemade playdough, balloon games, sidewalk chalk activities, nature exploration, a Story Walk book, puffy paint art, a UV bracelet, pinwheel craft, and several other creative experiences.
“The event reflects the shared commitment of Mobile Early Learning, the Kamsack Family Resource Centre, and the Kamsack Public Library to provide meaningful opportunities that support young children’s healthy development while strengthening family connections within the community,” said Gelowitz
“Working together allows us to offer families a welcoming space where children can learn through play, parents can discover simple ideas to continue learning at home, and community organizations can connect families with local resources,” continued Gelowitz.
Mobile Early Learning travels throughout rural communities in east-central Saskatchewan, providing free early learning programs, parenting resources, developmental activities, and community events for families with children from prenatal to five years of age. The program helps ensure that children living in rural communities have access to quality early learning opportunities close to home.
Registration is encouraged to assist with planning, although families are welcome to drop in while supplies last.
