PREECEVILLE — The Family Resource Centre recently announced that Karly Jakubowski of Preeceville is the new FRC coordinator. Her duties will begin on Sept. 1.
Karly brings a strong background in early years education, community involvement, and administration. She has experience as a Kindergarten teacher, physical education teacher, and office administrator, and has a passion for creating welcoming, play-based learning environments where children and families can learn, connect, and thrive, stated a release from the FRC.
“Having lived and volunteered in our local communities, Karly is already familiar with many of the organizations and families the Family Resource Centre serves. She values collaboration and looks forward to building strong relationships with parents, schools, community organizations, and local partners,” continued the release.
As coordinator, Karly will continue the many valued programs and partnerships already established. At the same time, she will work alongside the Board, community partners, and local families to listen, learn, and help shape the next chapter of the Family Resource Centre.
“I am very excited for this opportunity and look forward to continue evolving the established programs and well as adding some new programs,” said Jakubowski. She attended grade school in Lloydminster, AB., and attended the University of Saskatchewan, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education. She taught Kindergarten and Phys. Ed. for four years at St Mary’s School in Yorkton.
She moved to Preeceville and worked as a legal assistant for the previous three years at Shawn Patenaude Law.
Karly and her husband, Arden Jakubowski currently reside in Preeceville and are raising their family in the community.
Over the coming months, Karly and the Board will be engaging with families and community organizations to celebrate the Family Resource Centre’s 30-year foundation while exploring new opportunities that respond to the evolving needs of children and families throughout Preeceville, Sturgis, Endeavour, and the surrounding area.
