CARLYLE — A couple of men facing serious charges from separate incidents had their matters heard in Carlyle Provincial Court on Aug. 12.
Seth Beasley is charged with one count each of manslaughter and forcible confinement in the December 2024 death of Talon Lonethunder at the White Bear First Nations. His matters will be back in court Sept. 23, also in Carlyle.
Charges against Beasley were announced earlier this year. The co-accused in Lonethunder’s death, Jeremy Whitebear and Dwayne Maxie, have a trial scheduled to start in September 2027. Whitebear is charged with first-degree murder in Lonethunder’s death, while Maxie is charged with manslaughter.
Meanwhile, Braiden Shade Hotomani, who is facing attempted murder and other charges in connection with incidents in Regina and White Bear, respectively, appeared by CCTV. His attempted murder matter was adjourned for election Aug. 19 in Regina, while the others will be in Carlyle court on Aug. 26, also for election.
He is also charged for forcible confinement, firearm, assault causing bodily harm and more than a dozen other offences following an incident at the White Bear First Nations on May 24.
