CANORA, SASK.- The Canora Skating Club is gearing up for an exciting new season. Coaching Representative Rebecca Trost, who is also Head Coach of the StarSkate and Junior Test programs, and Regional Certified, Coach Assessor Certified, and newly Power Skate Certified, is looking forward to her sixth season with the club.
“Mackenzie Anderson is joining us again, her second season with the Canora Skating Club, and has taken on the role of head coach for the CanSkate program this season. She is CanSkate trained and will be completing her certificate this season.”
Danielle Burym is back for her third season with the Canora Skating Club, and her first year as a CanSkate Coach in Training.
“We are very much looking forward to our new programming for this upcoming season with a full roster of Coaches and Program Assistants for the CanSkate program, and implementing our new off-ice training equipment for the StarSkate program funded by Skate Saskatchewan through the Club Support Grant.”
At the Canora Skating Club AGM on Sept. 9, the following board positions were determined:
Cassandra Abbott – new club president
Trish Chernoff – new club vice-president
Joni Pretrychyn – secretary
Janelle Fullawka – treasurer
Kylee Toffan, Jeannine Owchar and Stephanie Lavrynsen – members at large
Cecilia Keinick – past club president.
“We are still seeking a fundraising co-ordinator and one more member at large,” said Trost.
Early bird registration at a discount is on until Sept. 20 at 9 p.m. Registration will remain open until Oct. 20 at 12 p.m.
