Scott Moe’s approval rating ties for second-highest among Canadian premiers

REGINA, Sask. — Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe remains among the provincial leaders with the highest approval ratings even as his own sank — albeit barely — to its lowest point in 18 months, according to the latest data released by the Angus Reid Institute.

Angus Reid said Wednesday that Moe’s approval rating hit 48 per cent in its most recent online survey, which drew responses from 4,310 Canadian adults — including 325 Saskatchewan residents — between Sept. 8 and 15.

Moe’s approval rating also matched his disapproval rating but still left him tied with Newfoundland leader Tony Wakeham for second-most popular premier in Canada.

B.C. Premier David Eby and Ontario Premier Doug Ford showed the biggest gains in popularity in the survey, each up 10 percentage points from June, while Alberta leader Danielle Smith ranked seventh out of the nine provincial results reported, at 38 per cent approval.

Manitoba NDP leader Wab Kinew’s approval rating came in at 63 per cent — his highest rating since June 2025 and equivalent to public sentiment from February 2024.
