YORKTON – Art enthusiasts will have a chance to see creativity unfold in real time when the Godfrey Dean Art Gallery and Arts Guild Yorkton present Art in Motion.
The interactive event, running Oct. 20 to 24 in the Godfrey Dean Project Gallery, will give visitors an opportunity to meet local artists, observe works in progress and learn more about the creative process behind a variety of artistic styles and mediums.
Gallery-goers will be able to speak directly with participating artists as they work, offering a rare glimpse into how pieces develop from initial concepts to finished creations.
The event is being presented through a partnership between the Godfrey Dean Art Gallery and Arts Guild Yorkton. Organizers say the exhibition is designed to foster connections between artists and the community while providing insight into the techniques, inspiration and craftsmanship involved in creating original artwork.
Participating artists include Carol Bolt, Lynda Dawson, Shannon Erickson, Marie Happy, Angelina Kardynal, Cherish Lazaroff, Stephanie Newsham, Bernice Puritch, Wendy Schmidt and Jeann Spilak.
Art in Motion will be open daily from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 20 through Oct. 24 at the Godfrey Dean Project Gallery, 49 Smith Street East, second floor.
Admission is open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to stop by throughout the week to watch artists at work and engage in conversations about their creative journeys.
