The Saskatchewan Roughriders will see plenty of changes to their line-up for their penultimate game of the regular season, and none bigger than in the receiving corps.
As expected, both KeeSean Johnson and Sam Emilus will return to the roster after missing time with injuries. Johnson is back in his usual spot as the weak-side wide receiver, Emilus is in as one of the strong-side slotbacks. Combined with Kian Schaffer-Baker playing slot on the other side of the field, the Riders have their three dynamic pass-catchers playing together at the same time for the first time since the end of July.
Johnny Johnson III will play as the other strong-side slotback, Dhel Duncan-Busby will start at wide receiver on that side of the field. Dylan Djete goes to the practice roster, Shemar Bridges was released by the team earlier this week.
As expected, 5,000-yard passer Trevor Harris will get the start at quarterback, A.J. Ouellette at running back.
Payton Collins returns at left tackle after missing last week with an ankle injury, with Thomas Perry at left guard, Jacob Brammer at right guard and Jermarcus Hardrick at right tackle. Centre Logan Ferland is a game-time decision as he tries to battle through a knee injury. Erik Andresen moves to the practice roster, Zach Fry to the reserve roster.
There are no changes to the starting line-up on defence.
Habakkuk Baldonado and James Vaughters get the start at the defensive ends, Mike Rose and Caleb Sanders at the tackles. Devin Adams comes off the practice roster as a back-up d-lineman as Aaron Patrick moves to the one-game injured list.
Jaxon Ford gets his second start at strong side linebacker, with Jameer Thurman at middle linebacker and Aubrey Miller Jr. at weak side linebacker. Justin Herdman-Reed is in as a back-up off the practice roster, Antoine Brooks Jr. moves to the practice roster.
The only change in the defensive secondary sees Malcolm Bell come off the reserve roster as a back-up cornerback. Tevaughn Campbell gets the start at strong side corner, James Burgess Jr. at weak side corner, Damarcus Fields at strong side halfback, Marcus Sayles at weak side halfback and Nelson Lokombo at free safety.
The Roughrider Broadcast Network will have all the action from Saskatchewan’s meeting with the Montreal Alouettes at Mosaic Stadium beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Teagan Witko and Wes Cates will have plenty of special guests, and Dave Thomas and Luc Mullinder will have the game call at kickoff at 1 p.m.
