SASKATOON, Sask. — Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation is investing $500,000 in Saskatchewan health research to advance care for children, youth and expectant mothers.
Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation (JPCHF) is extending its partnership with the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF), investing $500,000 to support pediatric and maternal health research across the province.
The funding will support SHRF’s Child and Youth Health Solutions Program, which brings together researchers with diverse expertise and perspectives to develop innovative, peer-reviewed solutions to pressing health challenges.
The program aims to generate lasting improvements in health outcomes and strengthen health care in Saskatchewan.
“Our longstanding partnership with Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation reflects a shared commitment to improving the health and well-being of Saskatchewan children, youth and families,” said Patrick Odnokon, CEO of SHRF.
“By combining our expertise, relationships and resources, we can create more opportunities for research to make a difference in Saskatchewan,” he said.
The two organizations have partnered since 2019, and SHRF is the newest partner in the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Research Initiative.
The initiative supports educational and research centres across Saskatchewan, with the goal of expanding the province’s capacity for health research and advancing medical care.
JPCHF has entrusted SHRF with more than $2.3 million for pediatric and maternal research initiatives since 2019, according to the foundation.
“Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation is pleased to work alongside the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation to increase provincial research capacity,” said Troy Davies, CEO of JPCHF.
“By prioritizing research today, we ensure Saskatchewan mothers-to-be and children receive the highest quality care now and for generations to come,” Davies said.
The latest investment builds on the organizations’ ongoing collaboration to strengthen research and improve health care for Saskatchewan families.
