PREECEVILLE, Sask. — After careful consideration, the Preeceville Senior Pats have made the difficult decision to take a leave of absence for the 2026-27 hockey season.
“This was not a decision we made lightly. Ultimately, we felt we did not have the level of commitment needed this season to support our players, volunteers, and fans fairly,” the team said in a release.
“We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has supported us over the past three seasons — whether by playing on the ice, coaching, volunteering behind the scenes, sponsoring the team, or cheering us on from the stands. Your support has meant so much to us, and we truly could not have done it without you. Although we will be taking a step back this season, we are not closing the door. We will continue actively recruiting and working toward bringing the Preeceville Senior Pats back for the 2027-2028 season.
“Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting senior hockey in our community. We hope to see you all back in the stands when the Pats return in the near future,” the release concluded.
