YORKTON, Sask. — The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce is calling for nominations to fill eight positions on its board of directors, with successful candidates serving two-year terms beginning in 2027.
Nominations will be accepted until noon on Oct. 31. To be eligible, nominees or the businesses where they are employed must be members of the Yorkton chamber in good standing.
According to the nomination package, directors are expected to attend board meetings, luncheons and other chamber functions, participate fully in chamber activities, serve as ambassadors for both the chamber and the City of Yorkton, and sit on a chamber standing committee.
The terms for successful candidates will run from Jan. 1, 2027, to Dec. 31, 2028.
The chamber notes that nomination forms must include the signatures of two chamber members in good standing in addition to the nominee's signature. Nominators must come from a different business or organization than the nominee.
Employees seeking a board position must also have permission from their employer to serve.
The annual nomination process helps determine the leadership team responsible for guiding chamber activities, advocating on behalf of the local business community and supporting economic development initiatives in Yorkton.
The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce is encouraging eligible members interested in contributing to the organization's future direction to submit nominations before the deadline. Nomination forms are available on the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce website.
