PREECEVILLE, Sask. — The Town of Preeceville and SaskWater have provided an update on construction of a new water treatment plant for the community, according to a release from town council.
Following a review of the current project schedule, construction of the new water treatment plant is now anticipated to begin in spring 2027. The project team requires additional time to complete detailed design work and the procurement process for major equipment. While construction had previously been anticipated to begin this fall, commencing work in spring 2027 will allow the project to proceed more efficiently and avoid challenges associated with starting construction during winter conditions.
The town, SaskWater and project partners remain committed to advancing the project and are working collaboratively to minimize the impact of the revised timeline. Efforts are focused on maintaining project momentum and managing activities in a manner that helps avoid significant impacts on overall project costs.
The town appreciates residents' patience and understanding as this important project progresses. While the construction start date has shifted, work on the project continues, and the additional planning and design work now underway will help support a smooth and efficient construction phase when work begins in spring 2027.
Additional updates will be provided as key milestones are reached and construction timelines are confirmed.
