A Dauphin man faces numerous weapon charges, after the raid of a home in the Dauphin area, stemming from an investigation into stolen firearms.
On Mar. 23, United States Customs and Border Protection made Manitoba RCMP aware that a Dauphin-area man had been charged, after a handgun was stolen from a gun show in Newfolden, Minnesota, two days prior.
A suspect was charged with felony theft, released from U.S. custody, and returned to Canada on Mar. 28.
Officers from the Manitoba Integrated Law Enforcement Team and the RCMP National Weapons Enforcement Team began investigating, after learning that stolen weapons may be in the man’s home, in the R.M. of Dauphin.
On Apr. 15, Mounties executed a search warrant, turning up six improperly stored handguns, several of which were loaded, with at least two identified as having been stolen from the U.S..

73-year-old Wilfred Kachurowski is in custody on a total of seven charges, including weapons trafficking and possession of a restricted firearm.
