The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added some versatility and experience to their offensive line.
The club announced Friday it has signed American lineman Justin Osborne.
Osborne, listed at 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds, spent time with the Cleveland Browns during the 2025 NFL season after joining the team as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft.
Before turning pro, the Texas native built an extensive collegiate resume that spanned six seasons. He began his career with the Auburn Tigers in 2019 before transferring to the Southern Methodist University Mustangs program, where he became a mainstay on the O-line from 2020-24.
Osborne served as a team captain in both 2023 and 2024 and was part of a high-powered SMU offence that ranked sixth in the nation in scoring, averaging 38.5 points per game in his final season. The unit also excelled in pass protection, surrendering the third-fewest sacks in the NCAA's Atlantic Coast Conference.
His individual accolades reflect that impact. Osborne was named First Team All-AAC in 2023 after earning Second Team honours in 2022, and followed that up with an All-ACC Honourable Mention in 2024 following SMU’s move to the ACC.
Over his collegiate career, Osborne appeared in 59 games — the third-most in program history — making 56 starts at multiple positions along the offensive line, including centre, guard and tackle.
The signing adds another piece to Saskatchewan’s offensive front as the Roughriders continue to shape their roster ahead of the 2026 season.
