Tax season is almost over! The deadline to file is this Thursday, April 30th! If you’re a fellow procrastinator like me, don’t worry, you’re not alone. I just finished my taxes last night and can finally relax, knowing a $40 check will soon be on its way (yes, I still love getting mail!). Whether you’re waiting on a refund or relieved to be done, it’s a good feeling to have it all behind you.
Next year brings something new to look forward to: the government is rolling out a pilot program for automatic tax filing. Imagine having your taxes prepped for you, and all you have to do is check them over! It’s a system that’s already helped simplify things in lots of other countries (like the UK, Spain, Denmark, etc.) and could be a real time-saver here too. Here’s to less stress and more free time during tax season!
