The Airwaves for Health Radiothon is underway, bringing the community together to support healthcare improvements across east-central Saskatchewan.
Day one raised a total of just over $134,327 dollars.
This year’s focus is on expanding surgical capacity at Yorkton Regional Hospital, including renovations to the endoscopy suite. The upgrade will allow an additional 500 to 600 procedures each year, helping reduce wait times and keep care closer to home.
Funds will also support the next generation of healthcare workers, including new ultrasound equipment for students training locally through Suncrest College.
Day two of the radiothon begins on Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. Saskatchewan time and runs through 6:00 p.m., with donations continuing to make a direct impact on patient care in the region.
