The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced the signing of a new receiver along with the retirement of a prospect linebacker.
The Riders said Thursday they have signed receiver Jaylen Johnson, who appeared for one offensive snap with the Los Angeles Chargers against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 27, 2024.
Johnson also had three receptions for 53 yards in a preseason game after splitting his collegiate career between Georgia and East Carolina. Over his final two university seasons at the latter school he caught 71 passes for 806 yards and six touchdowns.
In other roster news, the Riders also announced Canadian linebacker Seth Hundeby has retired from professional football.
Highly touted ahead of the 2025 CFL draft, Hundeby was picked by the Riders in the fourth round last year out of the University of Saskatchewan.
