KAMSACK — Organizers of the Mother’s Day tea held at the Eaglestone Lodge in Kamsack on May 10 were pleased with the success of the annual event.
“It was very well attended,” said Annette Purchase, who until a week ago had worked as the Lodge’s activity co-ordinator.
Served along with tea and coffee were slices of angel food cake topped with whipped cream and strawberries.
Organized by the Friends of Eaglestone, the tea was the first of two teas held at the Lodge each year, the other is the annual fall tea with bake sale.
Funds collected from the teas go towards residents’ recreation and for their outings, Purchase said.
The next event will be the May monthly birthday party, when all residents who have birthdays in May will be recognized.
All are welcome to attend the Lodge’s Wednesday morning drop-in coffee sessions being held each week from 10 to 11 a.m.
Succeeding Purchase as the activity co-ordinator at Eaglestone is Rhena Musqua, who began work a week ago when Purchase moved on to do office work.
