Building permits also saw month-over-month growth in March 2026, up 26.1 per cent from February 2026 (seasonally adjusted).
The total value of building permits represents the dollar value of construction permits for residential and non-residential buildings and is an important indicator of construction activity, and demand for raw materials and employment.
Statistics Canada's latest GDP numbers indicate that Saskatchewan's 2025 real GDP reached $85.4 billion. This was an increase of 2.2 per cent, putting the province well above the national average of 1.6 per cent.
