The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added some local depth to their offensive line.
The club announced Tuesday they have signed Saskatchewan-born offensive lineman Connor Klassen. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound lineman is returning to the Riders organization after previously spending time on the practice roster in 2022 as a territorial junior while also playing for the Regina Thunder.
A native of Big River, Saskatchewan, Klassen spent four seasons with the Thunder from 2019 through 2022. In his final CJFL season, he was named the Prairie Football Conference’s Outstanding Lineman and earned First-Team CJFL All-Canadian honours. He also helped the Thunder capture a league championship.
After his junior career, Klassen joined the University of Regina Rams, starting at right tackle in every Canada West game over the 2023 and 2024 seasons. During his time with the Rams, the program won its first Hardy Cup championship in more than two decades.
Klassen was selected by the B.C. Lions in the fourth round, 37th overall, in the 2025 CFL Draft but missed the 2025 season because of injury.
The Riders also announced they have released American defensive lineman Marcus Haynes.
