Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre continues to monitor flood activity across the province, and says significant rainfall is expected to move across much of the province starting Tuesday night, and continuing through June 12.
The province says much of Western Manitoba, including the Parkland region, along with the southeastern part of the province, including the Whiteshell lakes area, could be in for as much as 70 millimetres of rain before the system leaves Manitoba.
As well, a flood warning remains in effect for western Manitoba, including the Parkland region, and an overland flood watch has been issued for parts of western, central and southeastern Manitoba, excluding areas already under a flood warning.
Residents in the affected areas are reminded to keep a close eye on weather conditions, and be ready for rapidly changing conditions, such as localized flooding, road washouts, and water accumulation in low-lying areas.
