KAMSACK — Kamsack’s newest grocery store held its official grand opening.
The event at Potts Family Grocery and More took place on June 2, the same day as the Better Together Health Fair.
The business is owned by Kayleb Potts and his mother Samantha Potts. A family operated business, Kayleb, Samantha, Kayleb’s sister Dazie Potts and his wife Shayla Potts will be most active in the grocery, but will be supported by another sister Ivy Potts, and by his father Lloyd Potts.
“We’ve always wanted to open some type of business, we had a lot of ideas, but we landed on a grocery store a couple of years ago because of the cost of groceries,” said Samantha. “I wanted to see if we could start a grocery store and do better with pricing. As well, a grocery store, recession or not, is a good business to be in.”
The store had its ‘soft’ opening in March.
