YORKTON — Dinesh Bhatia expected a modest prize when he scanned his scratch ticket at the till. Instead, the Yorkton resident discovered he had won $250,000.
Bhatia purchased the winning $10 Crossword Deluxe Scratch & Win ticket from Super C Esso at 103 Gladstone Ave. N. in Yorkton.
“My friend suggested I try this ticket and I’ve played it a few times this year,” he explained. “I took this one in to scan at the till and thought I had just won $20 … but the cashier had to call her manager over and told me it was $250,000.
“I just couldn’t believe it.”
Now, as he considers what to do with his windfall, Bhatia is thinking about his future as an entrepreneur.
“My main priority is to open my own business and put the rest in savings,” he said. “I have no family with me here, so this will help out a lot.”
“I have no words … I just can’t believe it,” he smiled.
