Superstitions pop up everywhere, but in sports, they’re almost a tradition themselves. Both fans and players have their own little rituals: lucky socks, pre-game meals, or just sitting in the same spot on the couch. I don’t consider myself superstitious, but I can’t help but notice how these traditions add to the drama and excitement of being a fan.
Last season, life got so busy that I missed every single Rider game. And wouldn’t you know it, that’s the year they finally won the Grey Cup after 12 long years! I know it’s all about the hard work of the players, coaches, and everyone behind the scenes, but a tiny part of me wonders if my unintentional game-day blackout played a role. Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but now I can’t help thinking about it as the new season kicks off.
@gx94radio I’m not superstitious…but I am a little stitious. -Olivia . . . #superstitions #littlestitious #riders #homeopener #cfl
So, here’s my dilemma: Should I keep up the “lucky” streak by not watching, or should I join in the excitement and cheer on the Riders with everyone else this year? What would you do? Stick to the superstition, or break it and tune in? Let me know!
