A Keeseekoowenin First Nation man is in custody, charged in connection with a fatal rollover in the community.
Around 2:30 p.m. on June 20, Yellowhead RCMP members were called to the scene, on Highway 354, where they discovered a sport utility vehicle on its side, and later found the three male occupants of the SUV, that had been taken to a nearby business.
A 56-year-old man from the community, who had been sitting in the front passenger seat, and was ejected from the vehicle in the crash, was take to hospital in Minnedosa, where he died of his injuries. The two others in the vehicle were not seriously hurt.
The driver – 33-year-old Vincent Bone – face three charges, one count of driving while prohibited, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order, and he also received a $298 fine under the Highway Traffic Act, for driving an unregistered vehicle.
