PUNNICHY — A new court date has been set for a Kelliher man arrested after an incident involving kidnapping with a firearm in the town.
Adrian Frank, 31, was in Punnichy provincial court June 23, where he was remanded in custody to July 7.
Punnichy RCMP say on March 19, the suspect pointed a firearm at a man who was sitting in a parked vehicle outside a Kelliher business.
The suspect ordered the victim to drive him to George Gordon First Nation.
When two people there tried to assist the victim, the suspect allegedly broke a vehicle window and deployed bear spray at them.
A search of the suspect and the vehicle turned up a sawed-off firearm, ammunition, two cans of bear spray, a machete, a baton, about 36 grams of crystal meth, 24 grams of fentanyl and six grams of magic mushrooms.
The charges have not been proven in court.
