BROADVIEW — A new court date has been set for a man arrested following an armed confinement and assault on Kahkewistahaw First Nation.
Anthony Kinistino, 44, was in Broadview provincial court June 24, where he was remanded in custody to July 8.
On May 27, Broadview RCMP received a report that a woman was being held against her will by an armed man at a residence on Kahkewistahaw.
Investigators say the woman was assaulted and threatened with a firearm while being prevented from leaving the residence.
