STURGIS — Sherry Lesser, the Sturgis Composite School kindergarten teacher, bid farewell to her kindergarten students in a special kindergarten graduation ceremony on June 18.
Students were introduced as they walked into the ceremony. Members of the Sturgis Composite School kindergarten class were Amelia Boyko, Hartley Hurlburt, Amelia Mongeon, Emily Prokopetz and Jaxson Thiessen.
"Good morning and welcome to everyone joining us today to celebrate the 2026 Kindergarten Class of Sturgis Composite School,” began Lesser.
“These students have shown growth in many areas, including friendships, independence, problem-solving skills, and academic abilities as well,” she said.
During the program, the students recited a poem, followed by Lesser reciting a poem, and a song by the class. A slideshow presentation and presentations of diplomas followed.
The afternoon concluded with cupcakes and refreshments.
