EASTERN SASKATCHEWAN — A tornado watch has been issued for parts of eastern Saskatchewan on July 5.
According to an advisory from Environment Canada, conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible.
Environment Canada said a low-pressure system over western North Dakota will trigger isolated to scattered thunderstorms across southwestern Manitoba, but the tornado advisory has extended into eastern Saskatchewan.
"Significant damage or destruction to infrastructure, homes and the natural environment is possible," the advisory stated.
Communities in 44 RMs are affected.
SaskToday will have updates as they become available.
