A long-standing Swan Valley tradition will not take place this year.
The Swan River Valley Agricultural Society has announced the cancellation of the 2026 Northwest Roundup & Exhibition, citing the ongoing state of emergency, flood recovery efforts and the need for community members to focus on rebuilding.
Organizers say the decision was not made lightly, recognizing the strain placed on families, volunteers, first responders, municipal staff and others throughout the region.
Instead of hosting the event, the Agricultural Society will donate 20-thousand dollars to Co-op Helps through the Swan River Valley Co-op to support local flood relief and recovery efforts.
The society thanked sponsors, volunteers, exhibitors, competitors and everyone who has supported the event over the years, adding they look forward to welcoming the community back when the time is right.
