CANORA – With a graduating class of 40, the largest in at least a decade, Canora Composite School celebrated graduation in the great outdoors at King George Park on June 25. MC Thomas Lowes welcomed family and friends who had gathered to share the special occasion, and shared the class of 2026 motto, “Time is precious. Waste it wisely,” by K. Bromberg.
Each graduate entered individually, accompanied by some of their favourite music. Lowes helped audience members get to know the grads a bit better.
Cairwyn Bailey: Daughter of Vince and Nicole Bailey, Cairwyn plans on taking a gap year and finding a full-time job close to home. Then she hopes to complete the two-year diploma of animal science technology in livestock at Lakeland College.
Landin Ball-Jones: Son of Randy Rasmussen and Melody Ball, Landin plans on working at the shop and then whatever comes to him. He hopes to fix cars.
Mataya Ball: Daughter of Mathew Ball and Lanie Werrninsky, Mataya is looking forward to going wherever the wind takes her, and she hopes to be able to perform on Broadway's stage as an actor.
Lucas Biletski: Son of Earl Biletski and Betty Vantomme, Lucas plans on taking on new challenges, creating lasting memories, and discovering what the future has in store.
Colton Bletsky: Son of Rob and Tracey Bletsky, Colton plans on obtaining his fourth class power engineering certification and he hopes to become a first class power engineer.
Corbyn Borson: Son of Crystal Jacob, Corbyn hopes to have a good job and to be happy.
Addison Burym: Daughter of Ben and Amanda Burym, Addison plans on taking a gap year to work, and following her gap year, she will be starting her studies in education to become a teacher.
Henry Craig: Son of Tyler and Jill Craig, Henry will be attending the University of Saskatchewan to obtain a degree in Agricultural Biology.
Serin Crane: Son of Rainy and Megan Crane, Serin plans on attending the U of S to become a land management lawyer.
Reegan Goetzinger: Daughter of Mark and Michelle Goetzinger, Reegan plans on attending the U of S to study sociology, and she hopes to help and support people in need.
Gracie Hamm: Daughter of Don and Connie Hamm, Gracie will be moving to Saskatoon and attending the University of Regina's blended approach for pre-social work. She hopes to graduate with a bachelor's degree in social work and work in child welfare.
Kayden Harder: Son of Bryan Harder and Kristen Kelbaugh, Kayden plans on attending the U of R and taking sport and recreation management with business while continuing to officiate high-performance hockey.
Katherine Hauber: Daughter of Ryan and Trish Hauber, Katie plans on attending the University of Alberta in Edmonton to get her bachelors of science in nursing.
Aiden Kakakaway: Son of Leslie Keshane, Aiden plans on attending university and he hopes to help someone out there who needs it.
Cooper Kraynick: Son of Clint and Rachel Kraynick, Cooper plans on attending Suncrest College in Yorkton looking to become a journeyman welder and then go farming.
Wil Krotenko: Son of Kurtis and Kelly Krotenko, Wil plans on becoming an HVAC technician and he hopes to gain his journeyman's Red Seal.
Maisie Kuzminski: Daughter of Keith and Jerrie Kuzminski, Maisie is looking forward to joining the Army Reserves 38th Brigade in Manitoba and hopes to travel the world with the Canadian Armed Forces.
Jordan Makowsky: Son of Andrian and April Makowsky, Jordan plans on helping his dad on the farm and going to the pipeline for his hours to pursue his career as a journeyman welder. He hopes to get his Red Seal ticket as a journeyman welder and also get his B pressure certification.
Cale McAllister: Son of Blare Stewart, Cale plans on blessing Canara Composite School with his presence for another year, and he hopes to win every game of UNO played.
Kalyn McLaughlin: Son of Scott McLaughlin and Jen Schad, Kalyn is looking forward to attending Saskatchewan Polytechnic to become a heavy-duty mechanic.
Tucker Mydonick: Son of Cory Mydonick and Kari Ostafie, Tucker plans on attending Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Saskatoon for plumbing and pipe fitting. He hopes to join the apprenticeship program to become a journeyman plumber and one day open his own business.
Iravanth Mykytyshyn: Son of Michael Mykytyshyn and Alison Klutz, Ira plans on taking a year off to work and hopes to apply next term to the U of S in chemical engineering.
Braidyn Nesbitt: Son of Shaine Dionne and Niki Nesbitt, Braidyn plans on attending Suncrest College in Yorkton to get the needed credits for his future schooling at the U of S.
Jada Nordin: Daughter of Chad and Amy Nordin, Jada plans on attending the U of S for biomedical sciences and she hopes to have a career in the medical field.
Falyn Ostafie: Daughter of Keith and Lindsey Ostafie, Falyn plans on attending the U of R to get her bachelor of social work degree.
Andrew Owchar: Son of Mike and Desiree Owchar, Andrew plans on attending Saskatchewan Polytechnic to get his journeyman's electrical license. He hopes to shoot archery professionally and eventually attend the Summer Olympics representing Canada.
Devon Paley: Son of Damon and Naomi Paley, Devon will be working as a power lineman and working towards becoming a journeyman. He hopes to get his journeyman status and live in rural Saskatchewan so he can continue to enjoy hunting and fishing.
Brenna Reine: Daughter of Neal and Crystal Reine, Brenna plans on attending the Saskatchewan collaborative bachelor of science in nursing program offered through Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the U of R. She hopes to one day make a positive impact in the healthcare field as a Registered Nurse.
Linden Roebuck: Son of Scott and Sherri Roebuck, Linden plans on attending the U of R to receive his bachelor of education. He hopes to become a full-time teacher and get involved in coaching school sports teams.
Pierre-Juan Velasco-Rollin: Son of Patrick Rollin and Julissa Velasco, Pierre’s future includes learning his fourth language in Italy and then returning and attending university for business, with an eye toward one day becoming a business owner.
Miah Ruf: Daughter of Justin and Aimee Ruf, Miah plans on attending the U of R for the nursing readiness program and then applying into nursing at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She hopes to become a nurse practitioner.
Andrew Sliva: Son of Curtis and Michelle Sliva, Andrew plans on beginning his plumbing apprenticeship and then attending Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Saskatoon. He hopes to get his journeyman certification for plumbing.
Kale Strelioff: Son of Kevin and Kelly Strelioff, Kale is looking forward to attending the welding certificate program in Yorkton at Suncrest College for his first year of training to obtain his journeyman papers and then start up his own welding and fabricating business. He also hopes to come back to work on the family farm.
Logan Sznerch: Son of Jeff and Cindy Sznerch, Logan plans on starting his plumbing apprenticeship and fanning. He hopes to become a journeyman plumber and grow the farm.
Gasper Thomas: Son of Ian and Charlene Thomas, Gasper plans on working and hopes to become financially stable and live the good life.
Meekah Unick: Daughter of Dale and Shannon Unick, Meekah plans on attending the University of Regina and obtaining her bachelor of science in nursing, looking to become a registered nurse.
Cody Vangen: Son of Adam and Stacy Vangen, Cody plans on attending the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology to become a heavy-duty mechanic. He hopes to become a mobile mechanic and/or start his own business.
Wyatt Wolkowski: Son of Trent and Cindy Wolkowski, Wyatt plans on playing junior hockey and finding a job wherever he plays. He hopes to take over the family farm one day.
Jace Wolos: Son of Kevin Wolos and Lesley Parentta, Jace will be attending Suncrest College in Melville for Primary Care Paramedic, and then moving on to Saskatoon for Advanced Care Paramedic.
Irena Yannoulis: Daughter of Steven Yannoulis and Shyla Stephen, Irena plans on going to Suncrest College to pursue a career in nursing.
