Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure say it’s made significant progress on restoring access to provincial roads in the Swan Valley.
These roads were affected by heavy rainfall and flooding in June.
MTI says 9 Provincial Trunk highways have since been re-opened:
- Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) 5 – 2.4 kilometres (km) west of PTH 10 at Wilson River;
- PTH 10 – 2.3 km east of PTH 83 at Tamarack Creek;
- PTH 10 – 2.4 km north of Provincial Road (PR) 271 at Pine River;
- PTH 10 – 3.3 km west of PR 366;
- PTH 20 – 9.8 km north of PR 271;
- PTH 77;
- PTH 83 – 1.6 km south of PTH 10;
- PTH 83 – 6.5 km north of PTH 57; and
- PR 366 – from PTH 5 to PR 485.
At the height of the flooding more than 50 roads had been damaged, having been covered by water or had experienced washouts.
