Slowly but surely I have been watching my entire DVD collection and deciding what to keep and what to get rid of. Asking myself, “Does this movie/tv show hold up? And would I be okay if I never saw it again?” I’ll admit a lot of the DVDs have been keeps. SNL Best Ofs, which have sketches you cannot see anywhere else not even on YouTube, and a lot of movies that do hold up are staying, but some DVDs I did decided that it would be okay if I could only watch the show on streaming.
One of the ones I’m getting rid of: The Big Bang Theory. It was one of my favourite shows as a kid, but now that I’ve grown up, I realized that I don’t need it. I haven’t watched the DVDs themselves since before the pandemic, so I’m okay with giving them away. I still believe in keeping physical media, but it’s also good to realize if it’s collecting dust, you might want to just donate it.
