OTTHON — Residents of Otthon and surrounding communities are invited to enjoy an evening of live music, food and family activities while supporting a local community project.
The Otthon Hall Backyard BBQ Fundraiser is set for Aug. 8, at Otthon Hall, with activities beginning at 4 p.m. The event is raising money to help fund updates to the hall's kitchen.
Organizers have planned an afternoon and evening featuring live local entertainment, a beer garden, food service and games for all ages.
Music will begin at 5 p.m. with Karin Roulston, followed by Erin Fleury and Earl Gillespie at 6 p.m. Other performers scheduled throughout the evening include Hoss Fritz at 7 p.m., Kolby Clunas at 8 p.m. and Nathan Bewcyk at 9 p.m.
Food will be served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with organizers advertising gluten-free burgers, hot dogs and fries. A beer garden will also be available on site.
The fundraiser is open to all ages and admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy the outdoor atmosphere.
The event is sponsored by Sask Lotteries and highlights the important role community halls continue to play in rural Saskatchewan, providing gathering spaces for local events, celebrations and fundraisers.
The community is invited to support the kitchen upgrade project while enjoying an evening of live Saskatchewan music and summer entertainment.
