The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added another option to their receiving corps, signing American receiver Rashod Owens.
Owens, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 218 pounds, joins the Roughriders after beginning the 2026 season with the Calgary Stampeders.
The San Antonio, Texas native signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft and attended training camp with the team. He caught three passes for 25 yards during the Bengals’ preseason.
Owens signed with Calgary in January and spent the early part of this season on the Stampeders’ practice roster. The 24-year-old spent five seasons at Oklahoma State, appearing in 52 games for the Cowboys. He finished his collegiate career with 120 receptions for 1,771 yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 14.8 yards per catch.
Owens enjoyed his best season as a junior, hauling in 63 passes for 895 yards and five touchdowns. He saved one of his biggest performances for the 2023 Texas Bowl, catching 10 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns in Oklahoma State’s victory. Owens was named the game’s MVP.
The Roughriders continue to add depth to their receiving group as they look to build on their 2026 campaign.
