YORKTON — Longtime Saskatchewan prosecutor Roger DeCorby has been appointed to the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan and will serve in Yorkton.
DeCorby is one of five new judges appointed by the provincial government to fill vacant and newly created judicial positions across Saskatchewan.
A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan College of Law, DeCorby was called to the bar in 1992 and named King’s Counsel in 2022. After beginning his legal career in private practice, he joined Saskatchewan Public Prosecutions in 1998, where he built a career spanning more than 25 years.
During that time, DeCorby prosecuted serious criminal cases and held a number of leadership roles, including director of Saskatchewan’s High Risk Offender Program. Since 2017, he has chaired the National Flagging System, a federal-provincial-territorial initiative focused on identifying and managing high-risk violent offenders.
DeCorby was raised on a family farm in eastern Saskatchewan, an upbringing he has credited with shaping his commitment to public service and accountability.
