CANORA – One of the most popular events at Canora in Bloom each year is the United Church Perogy Lunch, and this year was no different with 154 people coming in for the meal.
Val Morozoff was one of the hard-working United Church volunteers who made it happen. The number was down slightly from last year, “but still a good number,” said Morozoff. “It was a nice day, people could be outside if they wanted.”
Morozoff said 110 dozen (1,320) perogies were prepared beforehand, which turned out to be pretty much exactly the right amount.“We had none left over. We were happy that everyone got fed, and no one had to wait.”
Anyone looking for dessert after the meal could enjoy one or two homemade tarts from the varied selection of 28 dozen that were donated.
“Many thanks for the support form the community,” concluded Morozoff.
