A road maintenance crew cleaning ditches in the R.M. of Wallace-Woodworth after recent flooding, have made a grisly discovery.
On Aug. 26, Virden RCMP were notified that the crew had located human remains, while working along Road 57 North, just east of Road 148 West, where they discovered two pieces of a human skull and a bone.
A perimeter was set up around the scene, and the next day, a forensic anthropologist and her team found a partial skull, right shin bone and lower left femur.
Police say the remains are consistent with those of a historical or archaeological nature, and carbon dating and testing for some of the bones are being arranged.
