The Yorkton Terriers picked up their second win of the preseason Friday night, edging the Melville Millionaires 6-4 on the road.
It was a back-and-forth affair from the opening puck drop, with the Mils answering each time Yorkton took a lead. Peter Godley, Kaden Sperle, Colin Ruotsinoja and Austin Horbachewsky all found the back of the net for the Terriers, but Melville responded with goals from Hudson Closson, Parker Salisbury and two from Isaiah Bagri to send the game to the third tied 4-4.
Dylan Brass put the Terriers ahead for good in the final frame, finishing off a breakaway with a beauty before Aidan Vallance sealed the win with an empty-netter with 1:06 remaining.
Nineteen-year-old Brady Low made 35 saves on 40 shots for Yorkton. Melville split the goaltending duties, with Kaleb Page stopping 19 of 23 shots through two periods before Noah Kraus turned aside four of five in the third.
The Terriers and Millionaires will wrap up their preseason home-and-home Saturday at Westland Insurance Arena.
Elsewhere, the Flin Flon Bombers cruised past the Northern Manitoba Blizzard 8-2, with Leo Seitz scoring twice. Noah Larre, Ryan Ulmer, Rhett Ewen, Brendan Phelps, Hudson Brehaut and one additional Bombers scorer rounded out the attack.
In Estevan, Steven Steranka scored the eventual winner on the power play with 4:06 remaining in the third as the Bruins edged the Weyburn Red Wings 4-3. Gunner Moore, Caleb Potter and Trip Jensen also scored for Estevan, while Adam Savage Keller, Kiran Fedun and Callas Pierce replied for Weyburn.
Meanwhile, the Battlefords North Stars got revenge in Warman, rolling to a 7-3 victory over the Wolverines. Finlay Klippenstein and Lukamus Lehman each scored twice, while Eric Marks, Brody Guiltner and Linken Fisher also scored. Fisher added two assists.
Kayden Yeaman scored twice and added an assist for Warman.
And in Big River, the Nipawin Hawks hammered the La Ronge Ice Wolves 7-1.
