One of two people arrested following a gas and dash on the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, has admitted his guilt.
On May 13, police say the occupants of a stolen truck put 71 dollars worth of gas in the vehicle, and attempted to pay with a debit or credit card that didn’t work, so they simply drove away.
Mounties located the truck a short time later, but it wouldn’t pull over, and turned onto a side road.
The truck was eventually found abandoned, the the two suspects were located in a wooded area nearby.
30-year-old Jordan Getty, of Winnipeg, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and theft under 5-thousand dollars on September 4, and he was sentenced to 105 days in jail, to be followed by one year of unsupervised probation.
