YORKTON, Sask. — Residents will have the chance to get a closer look at the world of aviation this weekend as Leading Edge Aviation hosts a fly-in open house at the Yorkton Regional Airport.
The event will run Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Green Hangar at the Yorkton Regional Airport and is open to everyone. Organizers are inviting visitors to either fly in or drive in for a day that will include aircraft displays, flight experiences and a barbecue fundraiser.
Guests will have an opportunity to take airplane rides, participate in discovery flights with an instructor and learn more about multi-engine aircraft through specialized discovery flights.
Leading Edge Aviation says the event is designed to give people of all ages a chance to experience aviation firsthand and learn more about flight training opportunities available in the region.
A barbecue lunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Burgers and a drink will be available for $10, with proceeds supporting STARS Air Ambulance.
Families, aviation enthusiasts and anyone curious about flying are encouraged to attend.
