YORKTON, Sask. — A new development has emerged in the case of a man arrested following a fatal two-vehicle collision near Foam Lake.
On Oct. 2, Wadena/Foam Lake RCMP were called to a crash on a grid road about nine kilometres west of Foam Lake.
Their investigation determined that a pickup truck tried to pass a semi-unit when it collided with an SUV.
A woman and her two young daughters were killed, while three other people were injured.
Kelly Knopf, 40, of Sumter, S.C., was in Yorkton Provincial Court Oct. 8 on three counts of dangerous driving causing death and three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
He was released from custody but is scheduled to return to court in Wadena in January.
