YORKTON – Local businesses lit up their storefronts and workplaces to show support for people with developmental disabilities as part of the annual Light It Up for DEAM campaign.
The initiative, held during Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM), encourages businesses and organizations to display blue and purple lights to promote inclusive hiring practices.
Several Yorkton businesses participated in this year's campaign, helping raise awareness about the contributions people with disabilities make to local workplaces and communities. The displays served as a visible reminder of the importance of creating employment opportunities that are accessible and inclusive for all.
Disability Employment Awareness Month highlights the skills, talents and achievements of workers with disabilities while encouraging employers to build more diverse and inclusive workforces.
