REGINA, Sask. — Pamela Wallin has resigned from the Senate, ending a nearly 18-year tenure representing Saskatchewan in the upper chamber.
The Canadian Press reported Monday morning that Wallin had resigned. Her biography on the Senate of Canada website now identifies her as a former senator.
Her biography on her website pamelawallin.com also confirms the departure, stating "she retired in October 2026."
Wallin, 73, departs about 18 months before reaching the mandatory Senate retirement age of 75.
The former CBC and CTV broadcaster was appointed to the Senate in January 2009 on the advice of then-prime minister Stephen Harper.
More to come.
