CANORA, SASK.- The Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Saskatchewan Provincial Council, held its regular board meeting over the Oct. 16-18 weekend, which included community outreach, in the Yorkton/Canora area. On Sunday the group made the trip to Canora. The activity included a photo opportunity at the Lesia Welcome Statue.
“The local branch was pleased to show off the Canora highlights,” said Dorothy Korol, Canora Branch President.
The next point of interest was the Ukrainian Heritage museum. While there, in addition to the tour, they had an opportunity to sample Canora’s famous poppy seed rolls and Alona’s poppy seed nalysnyky with coffee.
Over lunch at the Golf Course clubhouse members of the local branch and other guests met the members of the provincial Council and heard about their work.
