The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed offensive lineman Payton Collins to a one-year contract extension, the CFL team announced Tuesday.
The 6-foot-7, 301-pound left tackle joined the Riders in May 2025 and earned a starting position out of training camp as a rookie. He’s played in 29 games since then, plus last year’s Western Final and Grey Cup.
Collins was named the team’s Most Outstanding Rookie in 2025 and is a Grey Cup Champion.
The Columbus, Ohio, native is part of an O line that helped Trevor Harris lead the CFL with a career-best 5,370 passing yards. That group also pushed short-yardage pivot Tommy Stevens to 17 touchdowns – a league record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a season and a franchise mark for majors in a campaign.
