A man has been charged following an incident involving threats and weapons last week, on the Sioux Valley Dakota First Nation.
Last Thursday (July 20) afternoon, Mounties were called to a home on the reserve, where they say that two males came to the home to speak with one of the occupants, who then came out of the house wielding a machete, and threatened them.
The two returned to the vehicle, and a short time later, police say the man returned with a firearm, and pointed it at the males.
The suspect was arrested without incident, and a subsequent search of the home resulted in the seizure of a pellet gun.
41-year-old Bruce Blacksmith remains in custody, and will appear in Brandon Court today (MON) facing six charges in all, including two counts of Pointing a Firearm.
