In the early hours of January 30, 2024, chaos unfolded in Dauphin as RCMP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on 1st Street SW. Despite diligent patrols, the vehicle eluded authorities.
As the morning progressed, RCMP received a tip about the stolen vehicle being spotted in Crane River, careening recklessly at high speeds. Officers from Ste Rose du Lac, Winnipegosis, and Dauphin RCMP, alongside the Manitoba West District CREST unit, mobilized to track down the suspect.
Patrols in the area discovered the abandoned vehicle on PR 328, east of Waterhen, with a trail of footprints leading into the woods. In a collaborative effort involving RCMP Police Dog Services, Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, Manitoba Conservation, and Winnipegosis EMS, the authorities apprehended four suspects deep within the wooded area
The four individuals, each with outstanding warrants, faced charges:
- Mason Moar, 19, charged with Flight from Police, Resist Arrest & Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
- George McDonald, 18, charged with Resist Arrest & Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
- Denine Flett, 32, charged with Resist Arrest & Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
- Salita Beaulieu, 27, charged with Resist Arrest & Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
The investigation is ongoing by Ste Rose du Lac RCMP.
