A guilty plea has been entered a Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation woman, arrested in connection with a death on the reserve last summer.
On June 29 of last year, the Manitoba First Nation Police Service were called to a home on the reserve, to a report of an injured female, and upon arrival, they found the body of a 24-year-old woman.
The victim’s name has not been released.
26-year-old Fantasia Prince was charged with Second Degree Murder, and on Monday in Portage la Prairie, she admitted to the lesser charge of Manslaughter, and with credit for time already served, she will spend another 1,528 days in jail
She was also given a ten-year weapons ban and must provide a DNA sample.
