A new court date has been set for a Brandon man, charged in the death of a 2-month-old girl on the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation.
In January of 2016, Virden RCMP received a report of an infant in distress at a home on the reserve, and she later died in hospital.
After a lengthy investigation, 33-year-old Keifer Mecas was arrested in January of 2023, and charged with Manslaughter.
He’s been remanded in custody to Brandon Court on June 19.
